JV’s client-facing demeanor and technical skills don’t come along very often. I had the privilege of working with JV on a high-profile and complicated project for a very demanding client. JV was asked to take on increasingly more than his original role as lead architect. He represented the solution directly to the client and served as the main contact point for all things technical while at the same time staying hands on with the solution. He took all this increased responsibility on without question and pulled it off flawlessly. Both his maturity and understanding of modern development combined with his ability to keep a client well informed are exceptional. I would not hesitate to recommend JV to anyone.

Jean-Vincent created some of the more memorable moments of Spring 2011’s Computer Vision and Robotics course. Beyond being a conscientious and exceptionally capable student, Jean-Vincent approached the material in this class with as much enthusiasm as anyone: his automatic image-stitcher and -mosaicker was a beautiful example of the combination of deliberate, careful design with tenacity. His final project, which was to program an ARDrone quadrotor helicopter to follow atop an iRobot Create ground platform, was one of the remarkable successes shown during our demo days, operating precisely as Jean-Vincent’s team wanted it to, despite a couple of lingering mysteries as to the software pieces they leveraged to get it done. That Jean-Vincent joined Harvard’s RoboBees project in the following summer speaks to both his talents and his tenacity: Jean-Vincent is certainly someone I would recommend wholeheartedly to any open-ended, creative project containing a substantial computational component!

I have known Jean-Vincent for only a few months but he has already made a very favourable impression on me. He is an outgoing, dynamic person who throws himself totally into new ventures and gives 110%. Je connais Jean-Vincent en tant que Directeur des Etudes d’ESIEE Engineering depuis son arrivée dans notre établissement après son baccalauréat. Jean-Vincent est un étudiant qui a obtenu des résultats tout à fait honorables. Il s’est surtout distingué à travers la réalisation des projets qu’il a eu à réaliser au cours de ses études. Au cours de ceux-ci son enthousiasme, son énergie et son goût pour l’innovation lui ont permis de prendre une part très active dans la réalisation d’objets innovants. En parallèle à ses études, il s’est fortement impliqué de façon très positive dans la Junior ESIEE qu’il a contribué à faire progresser. Au regard de ses résultats et de son profil, il a été admis à suivre une année d’étude à Harvey Mudd College en Californie. A la suite de ce séjour, il a postulé et a été sélectionné pour participer au Research Experience for Undergraduates Program à Harvard au cours duquel il a participé au développement de RoboBees. Jean-Vincent est un étudiant enthousiaste et très dynamique, qui a toutes les compétences et le profil pour dynamiser les équipes dans lesquelles il est amené à travailler.

Jean-Vincent won the prize “the Engineer of the Year 2011” awarded by the magazine “Usine Nouvelle”. I am the ESIEE’s Communications Manager, so I asked him several times to represent the school and he has always answered yes with enthusiasm. For example, he participated in a live interview on Web TV “Campus channel” or spoke at a panel discussion for “Cordées de la Réussite” in the famous “Ecole des Ponts et Chaussées”. Still very dynamic, Jean-Vincent has had a remarkable career in ESIEE Paris and became an example for other students. I would add that it is great to work with him because his optimism is contagious.
